Jaisen Garcia Castillo

Community Engagement Specialist

Jaisen is a 24-year old Latinx man of Trans experience. Jaisen currently serves as the Community Engagement Specialist for Exponents, an institution that supports members of the LGBTQ+ community and individuals seeking to address substance use challenges. He began his career in human services at Streetworks at the age 13 working with people living HIV, substance use and individuals with carceral histories.He is a member of VoicesMustBeHeard providing virtual support and engagement to men of Trans experience. He also partners with Destination Tomorrow, the Bronx LGBT Center and NY City Agencies to bring needed services to his TGNC communities. He currently serves on the Bronx Borough President’s LGBTQIA+ Taskforce. He recently received his certification as a Phlebotomy Technician as well as becoming a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) Jaisen currently attends the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) in pursuit of his degree in Criminal Justice (Class of ’24).
